Governance

Animal Exotics is developed and curated as a long-term cultural archive dedicated to documenting and preserving the Human–Animal Relationship across history, cultures, communities, and generations.

The archive is organized around the principle that relationships between humans and animals have shaped transportation, agriculture, craftsmanship, stewardship, faith, community life, creative expression, and countless other aspects of human experience. Animal Exotics exists to observe, document, and preserve evidence of these connections.

Records within the archive are developed through research, observation, historical documentation, field records, and cultural interpretation. As the archive expands, new records will continue to document the many ways humans and animals have interacted across time and place.

The governance structure exists to maintain clarity, consistency, and continuity as the collection grows. By organizing records within a coherent framework, Animal Exotics seeks to build a durable system of record capable of expanding across generations without losing meaning, context, or purpose.

The archive is guided by stewardship, thoughtful observation, intellectual honesty, and respect for the historical record. New discoveries may refine existing understanding, but all records are preserved within the broader mission of documenting the enduring relationship between humanity and the animal world.

Animal Exotics is intended to develop gradually over time as a living archive of Human–Animal Relationships and the expressions, traditions, systems, and stories that emerge from them.
