June 25, 2023.

The BET Awards — 50 years of Hip Hop — played on the television.

I was on the loveseat.
Winston was on the couch.

A track came on — deep bass, driving rhythm.

I turned it up.
Stood.
Started moving.

Winston looked at me — then jumped down.

He came in.

Paws up.

Moving with the rhythm.
Rising as the music built.

The bass pushed forward.
The energy lifted.

He kept going — higher, more upright — until he was standing.

Paws above his head.

Balanced for a moment — then tipped over.

I laughed.

He stayed in it.
So did I.

No pause.
No hesitation.

Just movement.
Shared.

The music carried.
We followed.
